Annual Property Tax Deduction for Senior Citizens, Disabled Persons: An annual deduction of $250 from property taxes for homeowners age 65 or older or disabled persons who meet certain income and residency requirements. Income cannot be more than $10,000 per year for the household after the permitted exclusion of Social Security Benefits or Federal Government Retirement/Disability Pension, or State, County, Municipal Government, and their political subdivisions. *Old Bridge Township residents who qualify for the senior citizens, disabled persons annual deduction also qualify to receive a reduction off their bill with the Old Bridge MUA.

Property Tax Exemption for Disabled Veterans: Full exemption from property taxes on a principal residence for certain totally and permanently disabled war veterans or their unmarried surviving spouses/surviving civil union partners/surviving domestic partners. Unmarried surviving spouses/surviving civil union partners/surviving domestic partners of servicepersons who died on wartime active duty may also qualify. Property Tax Reimbursement (Senior Freeze): You may be eligible for a reimbursement of the difference between the amount of property taxes you paid for the base year (the first year you were eligible and applied) and the amount paid for the year for which you are applying for. You must meet all the state requirements and recertify your eligibility each year. Some of the requirements are; You must be 65 or older or receiving federal Social Security Disability benefit payments, you must have lived in New Jersey continuously for last 10 years and owned your current home for 3 years. Homestead Benefit Program: The Homestead Benefit program provides property tax relief to eligible homeowners.
