MISSION STATEMENT

The mission of the Old Bridge Township Auxiliary Police Unit is to assist the Old Bridge Police Department in providing crowd control and traffic control at community and civic events. 

The purpose of the Auxiliary Police Unit is to aid, upon request from the Old Bridge Police Department, in providing additional safety measures at various Township functions. The Auxiliary Police Unit also provides assistance during times of disasters and local emergencies. 

QUALIFICATIONS

The qualifications required to become an Old Bridge Township Auxiliary Police Officer are as follows:

  • Must be a citizen of the United States

  • Must reside in Old Bridge Township or an adjacent community that does not provide an Auxiliary Police program

  • Must have obtained a high school diploma or equivalency diploma (GED)

  • Must be eighteen (18) years of age

  • Must possess a valid New Jersey driver's license

  • Never been convicted of a felony or have a prior arrest record

  • Must submit to a thorough background check

  • Must complete the Middlesex Auxiliary Police Academy training program
